Hari's Carpets is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
Information we collect
If you contact us through our website, we may collect your:
- Name
- Email address
- Telephone number, if provided
- Enquiry details and message
We use this information to respond to your enquiry, provide quotations and, where applicable, supply our products and services.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
How your information is handled
One company handles it besides us: Cloudflare, who host this website and store your enquiry until it is deleted. We read enquiries on the website itself and reply from our own email, so nobody else handles your message on the way to us.
Our website also displays content from third parties, including Google Maps, Google Fonts and Instagram. These services may process technical information, such as your IP address, when their content is loaded.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry, provide our services and maintain appropriate business records. Enquiries sent through the website are deleted automatically after twelve months, and you can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
Counting visits
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they look at. It tells us the number of visits, which pages were viewed, which site or search someone arrived from, the kind of device they used, and the country they were in.
It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, it does not follow you to other websites, and it does not tell us who you are. The country comes from your IP address, which every website you visit can see. We cannot identify you from any of it.
Cookies and saved preferences
- The public website uses no advertising or analytics cookies — the analytics described above work without them. The one cookie this site can set is for shop staff signing in to update it, and it only exists after signing in.
- If you save favourite flooring shades using the heart feature, these are stored in your own browser and are not sent to Hari's Carpets. You can remove them by clearing your browser data.
Your information and your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you.
To make a request, email sales@hariscarpets.co.uk or call 020 8570 6502. Please provide enough information for us to identify your records. We will respond within one month.
If you have purchased from us, we may need to retain certain records for legal, tax, accounting or warranty purposes. Where this applies, we will retain only the information we are required to keep.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information.
Deleting your information
To ask us to delete it, email sales@hariscarpets.co.uk with the subject "Delete my information", or ring 020 8570 6502. Tell us the name, email address or phone number you used, so we can find it. You do not need an account and there is nothing to sign in to. We will confirm by reply once it is done, within one month and usually the same week.
What gets deleted: your enquiry — your name, email address, phone number and message — and any notes we made while quoting for the work. It is deleted anyway once we have dealt with you, and automatically after twelve months.
What we may have to keep: if you have bought flooring from us, we have to keep the sale records HMRC requires, and enough to honour a guarantee. We will tell you if that applies to you, and delete everything else.
If you have never contacted us there is nothing to delete. Reading this website creates no record of you: no account, no cookie, no analytics. Shades you save with the ♥ are kept in your own browser and never reach us.
Instagram. Our home page shows our own recent Instagram posts. We are not given any information about people who view them. Anything Instagram itself holds about you is under your control in the Instagram app, not ours.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
